Centered on IT resource lifecycle management, it prioritizes key areas, such as configuration management and unified monitoring and alerting. This comprehensive approach achieves standardization of operation data, streamlining of management processes, and visualization of operational data. These efforts continuously improve its operation management capabilities, laying a solid foundation for ensuring the operation of business systems.
This article shares the innovative practices of Zhong Ou AMC in its operation maintenance system amid its digital transformation. By adopting a platform-based and scenario-driven evolution model, it integrates IT software and hardware information, standardizes operation maintenance processes, thus builds a comprehensive and efficient O&M management system.
01 Challenges Faced by the Traditional O&M System
With the rapid development of business and the prominent role of information systems, the scope and responsibilities of operations continue to expand, leading to a corresponding increase in the complexity, workload, and requirements of operations management. The existing operation model can no longer meet the demands of the development, resulting in acute contradictions.
Lack of Configuration Management and Process Management Tools in the Traditional O&M System
The absence of configuration management tools makes it impossible to unify the management of IT resource objects, while the lack of standardized data hinders its circulation. Without process management tools, operations service management relies on multiple tools such as OA and email. This leads to offline processes, unclear handling and tracking, which leads to low operation efficiency and poor business continuity.
Strong Heterogeneity of the Traditional Monitoring & Control System
Although traditional operations tools are highly specialized and enable in-depth control across all domains, they are challenged by IT architecture transformations driven by technologies, such as cloud computing and containerization, as well as evolving compliance requirements in the financial industry. The traditional monitoring, management, and control systems are characterized by complex structures, high heterogeneity, fragmented assets, offline data, and inconsistent standards, all of which contribute to difficult management.
02 The Solution: Building a New Operation System with the Platform + Application Model
To address the challenges, Zhong Ou AMC plans to integrate existing operation tools and build a Centralized O&M Management System. By adopting a platform-based model to integrate capabilities, such as asset, alerting, and process management, the company upgrades the traditional operation system and tackles large-scale operation challenges. The system comprises two main components: foundational operation services and scenario-driven applications. It promotes the transformation of the operation model from tool-centric to platform-centric, integrating resources, data, and scenarios, which strengthens the foundation for digital operations.
1. Foundational Services: The foundational services serve as the underlying support platform for centralized operations and maintenance. They establish business support components and common services, enable centralized management and control of multiple operation objects, and provide capabilities such as configuration management and control services.
2. Scenario-based Applications: Based on the foundational services and aligned with practical operation scenarios, these applications address specific needs, such as service process management, unified alerting, and configuration management. Additionally, they can integrate with existing systems via APIs to further enhance the capabilities of platform.

03 Practical Implementation: From Platform Construction to Capability Upgrading
Building an Integrated Operations Management Platform
Zhong Ou AMC focuses on the dual demands of rapid business development and stability assurance. Starting from its practical needs and referencing advanced industry models, the company has incorporated new technological concepts from PaaS platforms to develop an integrated operations management platform tailored to the company's management characteristics. Guided by the innovative concept of Platform + Application, Zhong Ou AMC has established a standardized and unified operations management platform. This platform integrates multiple key components, including resource management, monitoring, alerting, automated operations, and IT service processes, while also interfacing with external systems. It simultaneously enhances the visualization, data sharing, and intelligent capabilities of digital operations.
Standardizing Operations Management Processes and Expanding the Value Stream of Automated Services
Leveraging the integrated platform, a unified IT service portal is established to provide users with one-stop services. This enables end-to-end collaboration between internal and external operations teams, and forms a management pattern of unified platform, unified resources, unified data, unified operations and unified services. By enhancing end-to-end operations collaboration capabilities and building an operations ecosystem, the focus is placed on process management, configuration management, and full lifecycle fault management. It drives the standardization and process optimization of operations data, laying a solid foundation for operations transformation.
Building a Unified Resource Configuration Management Hub to Consolidate the Foundation of O&M
A unified and centralized asset configuration management model has been established, covering the existing software system resources as a priority. Leveraging automated data collection capabilities, it enhances the agility and accuracy of maintaining PaaS-layer attributes and relationships, providing service for information queries, resource location, and troubleshooting.
Comprehensive Resource Monitoring and Intelligent Alert Convergence
Centered on monitoring the IT resources, a fully functional monitoring and alerting center has been established based on existing hardware and log monitoring tools. This enables integrated monitoring capabilities for IT infrastructure resources, covering all IT resource objects and application systems. As a result, issues can be identified in a proactive, and timely manner, with event processes for resolution. Additionally, critical alerts are promptly converted into work orders, and self-healing capabilities for alerts are developed. Currently, the alert convergence rate exceeds 70%, significantly improving the timeliness and accuracy of fault resolution.
Enhancing Talent Transformation and Empowerment
Talent transformation is another core element of digital transformation, with the shift of operations teams toward Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, which is the key to IT operations talent development. By establishing a new platform-based operations model and providing capabilities in configuration management and process engine design, Zhong Ou AMC equips with the independent design and implementation of monitoring metrics, operations processes, configuration management models, and automated operations. This empowers the IT operations team to undergo a sustained transformation of talent capabilities.
04 Reflections and Outlook
From the perspective of financial technology, building an integrated operations platform with advanced internet experience can comprehensively support business systems, enhance business continuity, and facilitate agile business iteration through multiple means, thereby elevating the company’s overall financial technology capabilities.
From the perspective of business continuity assurance, the integrated O&M platform can strengthen the IT department’s ability to monitor and perceive business systems. For IT faults affecting business operations, it improves the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduces the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), ensuring that business systems can continuously support business operations.
From the perspective of O&M technology, this platform will drive the company's improvement in multiple dimensions including IT management, service quality, work measurement and O&M technology. It will help transform the O&M model from fragmented and independent to integrated, and achieve standardization and modularization of common O&M operations, thus improving efficiency and controlling risks.
Looking ahead, Zhong Ou AMC will continue to deepen innovation in operations management. It plans to build a more comprehensive intelligent operations system in areas, such as big data analysis for operations and AIOps. This will lay a technical foundation for the company's future agile and intelligent business initiatives, supporting the steady advancement of its digital transformation.
